What is NIL?
In July 2021, the NCAA adopted new policies allowing college athletes to profit from their NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness). College athletes can now enter endorsement deals, promote products on social media, and participate in other commercial opportunities. This episode explains what NIL is and the road to college athletes being granted NIL rights. This episode also addresses NCAA President Charlie Baker's proposal that a subdivision of DI college athletics be created and the preliminary injunction being granted to temporarily suspend the NCAA's transfer rules.
